Iceland has some picturesque landscape. Popularly known as “the land of fire and ice” Iceland has some incredible glaciers along with being home to the “world’s most active volcanoes”

 

Travel Tips

– Have some change on you because in certain parts of Europe the public washrooms are not free. They typically cost about 0.50 – 1 euro. 

– Cant hurt to bring a portable battery pack in case your phone runs out of battery

– Rent a car. It’s a lot easier to explore out of the city with a car

– Pack comfortable shoes, lots of walking

– Bring a waterproof jacket and umbrella as it does get rainy in Iceland

– When planning your trip be aware that Iceland have very limited daylight in the winter and in the summer it is almost 24 hours of daylight

 

 

Thing to Know

Travel Documentation: Canadians and US citizens do not need a visa for up to 90 days. Please note passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of travel.

Language: The official language of Iceland is Icelandic. Majority of the population speaks English.

Money: The official currency of Iceland is Icelandic Krona (ISK). Credit Card and Debit are available however, please be sure to contact your bank to inform them of your travel plans.

Outlet: Be sure to purchase a travel adapter as the voltage if different in Europe than Canada/US. In Europe it is 220V – 240V whereas in Canada it is 120V
